A rest day already booked at the very amiable Amizagh Hostel ... cycling German, Christine, checks out and heads for Monchique ... porridge for breakfast and some early philosophy ... laundry drying on the roof terrace ... a bag of vegetables from the market opposite the hostel ... ready for roasting tonight ... the simple joys of a kitchen and good company ...
Guy is heading up to the hills to a work for bed and board place and after a morning's chatting and learning something of his colourful life, then lunch, and he heads off ... and I head for the beach ... nearly an hour wandering along the river, a chat with Stefan, from Germany, also volunteering at the hostel, then back again to help with dinner ... 5 at the table, others out at restaurants ... Michael and Louise return and tell of their unusual hobby ... following the England football team, home and away ... they recently bought a house in North Portugal and are here to consult a German chap who specialises in natural swimming pools ...
An offer for work for bed and board from a yoga retreat near Salema. .. accepted, just need to find the place ... the final details tricky without a phone ...
So, tomorrow still open, but a bus ride to Lagos looking likely ...
