Portalegre to Castelo de Vide and back ...

The early bus to Castelo de Vide arrives before 9 am, leaving plenty of time for a look round and a wander home via the Marvao road ... a warm and sunny day ... the castle well preserved and open for exploration and all round views ... the Synagogue Museum beautifully excavated, renovated and presented ... the story of the Jews in Iberia, persuaded to convert to the new religion of Love Thy Neighbour, but not until some scores were settled with these murderers of Jesus, himself a Jew ... a very strange and disturbing story and only now young generations are rejecting the One True Religion in droves ... speaking of compassion and simplicity, modelling torture and excess ... perhaps the fear is finally dissipating ... meanwhile the Church of John the Baptist is open for visitors and full of sacred images ...

Plenty of processing whilst plodding and the thought to check the HelpX  site ... see what's going on and find something to engage in for a while ... so, back at the hostel, it turns out that Portugal is a hotbed of lifestyle projects ... many proposing yoga retreats ... some market research needed to see how many customers there may be ... and perhaps some aggregation of resources, since there seem to be lots of folks working single-handed, relying on Helpexers, with serious amounts of work to do to attract paying customers ... and another strand of the HelpX life, where employment laws are circumvented by what appear to be mainstream businesses ... anyway, a couple of speculative enquiries are now out in the probability field ... let's see ...

Ana Paula turns up at the hostel ... a regular customer, a teacher in town Monday to Wednesday ... living in Lisbon ...
