Castilblanco to Almaden

After yesterday's dearth of pilgrims, three appear on the road, having found other beds in town.

The first, Raimundo, a Basque living free and having been around India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Burma and other Asian countries, is full on with Advaita ... an early coffee on the way out of town aligns the frequencies, later developed in Almaden over a beer and rehearsal for tomorrow's exit from town ...

Second is Anna, from Holland preparing to break free and wander Spain or wherever her fancy takes her ...

Third, Gustavo, from Brazil, with a German grandfather ... a Lutheran Pastor, stranded abroad before the Second World War and desperate to join Adolf in his just struggle to right the wrongs imposed after the previous carnage ... perspective ...

Most of the trip is solo though ... 16k on the hard shoulder of a quiet minor road (Clement cycles past with his newly arrived friends and almost swerves into the ditch turning to wave), 14k through a nature reserve ... always climbing ... warm and sunny, then a very steep climb to the aptly named Calvary Hill for a wonderful all round view, before dropping into town, early enough for a quick shower and late lunch (and Spanish lunch and dinner times are very late) ... the Albergue without other guests but Raimundo located later, having checked in to the nearby alternative ... as for Anna and Gustavo, who knows? There is a municipal hostel along the way ...

Sorry for the lack of Pilgrim pics ... they were all shy ... maybe tomorrow ... which offers the first hostel at 14k, the next at 34 ... let's see ... there is no rush, but 14 is maybe not enough ...
