Viana to A Guarda

Clothes and pack all dry after night on radiator ... organism well rested and awake early, no reports of problems from legs, feet or shoulders, after yesterday's efforts ... all ready to go for a slightly shorter day, to Spain by boat from Caminha ...

Sun emerges, though yesterday's persistent rain and similar forecast brings to mind story from the Iron Cross before Ponferrada ... the Master with the power to walk dry as rain fell all around ... like a psychic umbrella ... other less savoury aspects of his character brought into focus the problem with gurus, but the psychic brolly is something which may come in handy in the next few days .... something new to try anyway ...

Caminha takes a while, up and down, through forests on the authentic Way, with occasional views of the waves crashing to shore far below ... the alternative following the beach is further and faster. .. anyway chosen Way arrives at Caminha before 1, an hour for lunch at a rather nice restaurant with a view across the Minho, before the ferry for Spain leaves at 2, and adds an hour en route ... a short walk across to A Guarda, in Spain and to the Albergue with a few pilgrims ... notably Severio, a Professor of Anthropology from Rome, walking to Fatima, having already been from Lourdes to Santiago ... 3 months on the road so far ...

An early enough finish and a longer stage set up for the morning. .. and after today's sunshine some rain predicted. ..
