Suns, Duns, Seals, Seas, St Abbs

Sitting writing this story today, Tuesday, about yesterday, Monday, silently engrossed in the thoughts of elder daughter as newly born, when your old blogger fell in love for the first time, as only a Father can with a Daughter. It happened again 2.5 years later, when her little sister arrived on the scene ... both are nowadays in their early 30s and still my beautiful babies, living close enough geographically for a day trip in a car, and emotionally inclined to enjoy the visit too ...

So, it was just before 6 a.m. when Daisy and I left home in the dark, and dawn come slowly as we drove quickly North up the A68 to the Scottish Border and Jedburgh. We went North-East then, towards Duns, and the sky was aflame above the North Sea. From the West dark clouds brought light rain and a Rainbow arcing over the show.

We arrived about 8.15, just in time for a slug of caffeine and back on the road to Berwick on Tweed, where the boy attends his special school. Swiftly back to Duns and elder daughter is off to the repair shop with Daisy ready to collect her and travel to the coast at St Abbs for a long walk along the cliffs ... Sun was full on and it seemed late Autumn was Spring already it was so warm. On the beach below Grey Seals were delivering their Pups in the Sun.

Lunch at One, sitting outside, was a birthday treat and a second walk led us to the harbour, and a beautifully located Airbnb for future reference. Then back for the boy from school, up the A1 and home for tea with a birthday cake plus elder daughter's wife returned from work.
After that very full day, Daisy and I headed home as the light dropped and moon shone most of the way home.

Today, Tuesday, was also amazing in everyway, though without driving Daisy, who stayed parked all day. And it's nearly bedtime now, so goodnight, sweet dreams and all that nonsense ...
