Time and the twice yearly hint ....

As discussion turns to the case for and against moving clock time, it seems such activity is more than a national event ... giving rise to the suspicion that the whole thing is a huge hint that Time is a relative concept ... which is pretty mindblowing .... of course you can see for yourself, but put simply equatorial countries don't bother, but most of the rest do ... some last weekend, others this ... anyway, despite the use of the phrase "daylight savings time" obviously daylight is not actually caused by clocks but the Sun, which we mostly understand ...

Languages continue to fascinate ... their potential to explain and constrain ...their very structure leading to a fragmented view of the world ... and languages with letters forming words, which themselves form sentences in linear progression must lead to an ordering of the world(s) ... other spoken and written languages use ideograms, producing a different kind of ordering .... music conveys other ways, whilst the most accurate language, mathematics, it is  said, gets closest to what's really going on .... always a mystery here, but Hugh Everett's equation unifying Newtonian and Quantum worlds worked, as long as an infinity of parallel universes was allowed ... the implications are astounding, but the idea never really took off ... except in Wear and Dao of course ...

Meanwhile, the two week walking window closes a bit, in case a visit to the dentist is required tomorrow, to ensure the lab has all they need ... after that a trip to Porto, or just beyond and a swift walk to Santiago and on to Fisterra for a birthday reunion at La Espiral ... not that birthdays are much noted, but it's a frame for a game, which inspired legs this morning on three hour trip to Fuseta and lunch at the vegetarian restaurant there ...

  1. Daylight saving not required on the Equator - the clue is in the name...
