the internet and the devil . . .

One of the many fascinating things Reiner, the German permanent pilgrim, said was that the internet was the work of the devil. He never looked at it.
Setting aside how literally we are taking the word devil, I could agree that television is diabolical. Conditioning the mind, instilling fear and separation.
My view on the internet is that it is like books back when new printing techniques made them widely available. Some people would have said, the work of the devil, the priest tells us what's going on.
The interactive internet has the ability to connect anyone to anyone else to discuss whatever they want. Who you choose to talk to and about what is up to you.
Of course there is commercial pressure, security concerns, all that.
But, the work of the devil?
Since this post, I stayed at Espiritu Santo Albergue, run by nuns . . . there is internet . . .
